If you’re planning a summer camping trip, it may not be necessary to pack a tent. If you’re going to be camping in the middle of a heatwave and can be more or less certain that it isn’t going to rain, you should consider purchasing a hammock instead.

Generally speaking, a high-quality hammock will cost you considerably less than a high-quality tent, but the benefits of owning a hammock extend far beyond the realms of finance and we’re going to be discussing them in this review of the Camping Hammock from Covacure.

Covacure Camping Hammock

This is a budget camping hammock, but you’d never guess that while lying in it. It boasts a variety of features, which we will discuss a little further down, and promises a maximum capacity that is virtually unattainable for a single camper. Covacure first made this hammock available online in March of 2017 – just in time for summer of that year – but it remains popular among thrifty campers today.

Who is this product for?

The Covacure Camping Hammock rarely exceeds $25 in price, so it is a great choice for anybody who is planning a camping trip on a budget. You should also consider it if you’re searching for a hammock that you can hang in your backyard. However, its low price tag means this hammock is not suitable for all environments. If you’re an avid outdoors person and camp a couple of times a year and in all weather conditions, you should expand your budget and go with a heavy-duty alternative.

What’s included?

When you purchase the Covacure Camping Hammock, you’ll receive the hammock itself, along with the necessary hammock straps. Also included is a mosquito net rope, designed to aid the actual mosquito net in keeping bugs at bay throughout the night. Covacure sells this product with a complimentary branded carrying bag, in which the hammock and all additional accessories can be stored and transported.

Overview of features

The Covacure Camping Hammock boasts some pretty expensive features despite its low price tag. For example, Covacure fitted this hammock with a mosquito net, which you usually won’t find for less than $30. This net will keep all bugs at bay and can be easily connected to the hammock through its integrated stainless steel zippers.

Covacure designed this hammock to be lightweight, even with its 201T nylon construction and triple-stitched seams. Weighing in at just 1 pound, it can be easily carried upon your back as you trek to your campsite and will put virtually no strain on your arms, shoulders, or back.

This hammock also promises a heightened level of breathability, so you won’t have to worry about sweating during the night even when camping in heatwaves and droughts.

Tutorial

Despite its many features, the Covacure Camping Hammock is intended to be used primarily by beginners and casual campers. If you fall into either of those categories and are considering purchasing this hammock, you should be sure to watch the below video before completing the transaction. In it, you will be shown how to safely hang a camping hammock for a stable and comfortable night’s sleep.

Alternatives

If you are not a regular camper, the Covacure Camping Hammock will give you virtually everything you need to make the most out of the occasional camping trip. However, those who camp a couple of times a year regardless of the weather should look for something a little more durable – something like the Lost Valley Camping Hammock from Oak Creek Outdoor Supply.

This hammock will set you back about double the price of its Covacure alternative, but for the extra money you’ll get an ultra-strong tear-resistant nylon construction, a rainfly, and reinforced stitching and knotting, among other things. The Lost Valley Camping Hammock also features an integrated accessory pouch for your smartphone and can be fully erected in just three minutes.

Although it comes in at two pounds heavier than the Covacure Camping Hammock, this offering from Oak Creek Outdoor Supply can be easily packed away and effortlessly carried from place to place in the branded drawstring bag which comes included with every purchase.

Conclusion

Although it is certainly lacking some features that would make it more appealing to hardcore outdoor fanatics, the Covacure Camping Hammock is more than deserving of your attention if you are a hobbyist camper or are planning a one-off camping trip.

For less than $30, you will get protection from the cold, the heat, and mosquitoes, as well as triple-stitched seams, a lightweight design, and a number of accessories intended to enhance the experience of the user. If you’re searching for a hammock that you can use only a couple of times a year that requires relatively little maintenance, the Covacure Camping Hammock should be high on your shopping list.

comments suggest not suitable for very tall people…6 ft 2 inches too tall?

You might be able to make it work if you were 6 ft 2 inches, but we really wouldn’t recommend this to anyone over 6 ft.

I really enjoyed your article. Actually, it was great.
I love to travel and I want to know, which hammock is the best for me, and it can be easily transported from one place another place.
